General Discussion / Re: concerto 111 hohner 72 bass
« Last post by JohnTGray on November 16, 2012, 17:37:47 PM »
Hello DD
I bought a Concerto 111N 72 bass today and am really pleased with it. I didn't consider it as an option until I heard it being played.
It has a deep resonant tone, very loud and has a nice musette option. It's in great condition and not very heavy. All I need now is a few lessons then I'm sorted! I'll keep you posted.

Depending on where you live, I would suggest visiting your local Accordion Club, Talking to people there and you might find someone there that plays a button accordion, I'm sure they would be more than happy to show you a few things and let you have a play with their button accordion.

General Discussion / Any good way to try out button accordion without breaking the bank?
« Last post by hyphz on November 09, 2012, 19:00:22 PM »
Hi everyone,

Thanks for accepting my join request! :)  I'm interested in trying to learn the button accordion but am a bit stuck as it seems awfully difficult to try one out without breaking the bank.  Even the cheapest second hand ones I've seen with proper chromatic button layouts are into the 700 pound bracket and that's a heck of a lot for an instrument that I don't know if I'll end up taking up.   I've read advice that when starting it's better to go for a digital/virtual because you can switch the key layout around but those are even more expensive!  Is there any good way to find a cheap learner's button or even a decent simulator? (I have a simulator for the iPad but obviously it can't be held/carried in the correct way)

Interesting Websites / Re: Post links to Interesting Websites here

If you know of a website that is really interesting, informative, educational or just plain fun, and you think we would be interested, then please let us know in this section.

It doesn't have to be anything to do with accordions or even music. Just let us know what we should be looking at on the Internet if we want to expand our minds a bit and learn something new.
